The old city stream flowed through the middle of the streets of Bern.
It still flows today, partially underground, partly exposed as visible in the picture. He served the workers, so that mills were operated and the laundry washed, etc. which was strictly regulated, but he never acted as drinking water. There were also sewers and toilets.
It flows via Bümpliz in the direction of the main station, down Spitalgasse and at the Nydegg bridge into the Aare.
