NATO Days in Ostrava (actually NATO Days in Ostrava combined with the Czech Air Force Days) - one of the largest aviation and military events in Europe. Its aim is to present to the public the security measures and capabilities of the Czech Republic and its NATO allies. The event takes place annually in the second half of September and lasts two days.
NATO Days in Ostrava include meetings, presentations, workshops and military equipment shows. They take place on the premises of Ostrava Airport, an airport near Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
The event is open and ticket-free. In 2021, for the first time, the event was ticketed with a limited number of spectators, due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can see military, police and rescue equipment there. There are dynamic air and ground shows of military and special units, as well as air shows and acrobatics. During the NATO Days, firefighters, policemen, customs officers, the Prison Service, the Municipal Guard and elite units from NATO countries and countries cooperating with it also present their equipment and skills. In 2016, 21 countries sent their teams.
