The Untermain Bridge is centrally located, right in front of Frankfurt's skyscrapers. There is a lane separated from the road for cyclists in both directions. This allows you to enjoy the view of the Main or the skyscrapers in a more relaxed manner.

The Untermain Bridge is a road bridge over the Main in Frankfurt am Main. It connects Neue Mainzer Strasse in the city center with Schweizer Strasse in Sachsenhausen. It was built between 1872 and 1874 by Peter Schmick and blown up on March 26, 1945. It was rebuilt in 1948/49. In 1989 and 1990, the bridge was demolished down to the bridge piers and rebuilt as part of a total renovation.

Untermain Bridge - FFM 🚴‍♂️

The Untermain Bridge is a road bridge over the River Main in Frankfurt am Main. It connects the city center with Sachsenhausen and was built between 1872 and 1874. A horse-drawn tram operated the Untermain Bridge from 1896 onward, and it was electrified in 1899, one of Frankfurt's first tram lines. In 1933, the bridge was renamed the Adolf Hitler Bridge. On March 26, 1945, three of the bridge's arches, along with the other Main bridges, were blown up by a Wehrmacht demolition squad. At the end of 1945, a temporary wood and steel structure was placed on the largely undamaged piers to at least make the bridge—now renamed—usable for pedestrian traffic again. Reconstruction began in June 1948. Tram service over the bridge ceased in 1984. In 1989/90, the bridge had to be completely rebuilt due to structural damage that had occurred in the meantime. The entire bridge girder was removed and rebuilt.
