The free parking lot with access to the Mönchsteich is an ideal starting point for tours in the area.
Unfortunately there is a staircase to go down to the Mönchsteich - the first part can still be pushed, the second part has to be carried by bike - going down - going up is more difficult.
A good alternative route would be the narrow path on the north-west bank between the street and the stairs - but unfortunately it is a well protection area and entering seems to be prohibited - it is unclear whether entering the path or only entering the bank area is prohibited - the path itself is not blocked, only at the end on to Lütjenseer Straße - but there is also a much used trail leading past it .....
The rest of the free path along the north bank is very nice and easy to drive -
I can highly recommend it.
