Home-school which saw Henri Alain-Fournier grow up from the age of 5 to 12, his father having been appointed director of this boys' school in 1891. He drew his inspiration from this place to write his novel 'Le Grand Meaulnes'.
Today, this building has become a school museum, restored as in the time of Alain-Fournier, it is both a tribute to the writer but also a faithful representation of what a school was under the 3rd republic.
