The memorial at Stockborn

In 1926, the Taunus Club's "grove of honor" was ceremoniously inaugurated at Feldberg. It was intended to commemorate the 126 members of the Taunus Club who died in the First World War. The memorial consisted of three quartzite rocks and a bronze plaque bearing the names of the fallen.

After the Second World War, the memorial was moved a few hundred meters to its current location and redesigned. Now it commemorates not only the fallen in both world wars, but all the Taunus Club's deceased. Every year, the Taunus Club organizes a star hike to Stockborn, where a memorial event for the dead of the previous year takes place.
