The lakes are located in the Rudawy Landscape Park, in the area of former quarries that were once used to extract sandstone and granite. Thanks to natural processes and human influence, the quarries gradually filled with water, creating beautiful, colorful lakes. The lake gets this color from the copper compounds present in the subsoil. Entry to the Colorful Lakes area is free.
