After passing some backcountry campsites and a final steep climb, you reach Blue Lake. Just across the trail to the west is also the smaller Hang Lake. These two beautiful alpine lakes below Cameron Peak are the perfect spot to rest after a challenging hike. The pristine blue water contrasts with the green meadows and forests surrounding Blue Lake, making for amazing photographs. Unlike large portions of the trail leading up to the lake, the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire did not reach the alpine tundra, so both Blue and Hang Lakes were fortunately unaffected.
