The original nucleus of Castello Ricetto dates back to the 11th century. What you see today is a 15th century installation.
The entrance was a tower formerly equipped with a drawbridge.
To the right of the entrance is Via della Fossa, so called because it was created by filling in the moat that surrounded the castle.
The access road (Via Castello), with cobblestone paving, leads us - along the typical brick and stone houses of Sesia - to the building where an important example of a weight press (year 1575) is preserved.
This is the oldest example of a press preserved in Piedmont: it consists of an elm trunk 13 meters long, used for pressing grapes
The jewel is the former Church of San Pietro, a Romanesque church which preserves a cycle of frescoes dating back to the second half of the 12th century
