Compared to its surrounding trails, McKay Hollow Trail is much more difficult to hike. When arriving at one of the parking lots in the north, you will start your hike with a steep and rocky descent. Once you reach the creek bed, it gets more flat for a short period before you have to hike steeply uphill again. The trail leads through a beautiful forestry and rocky landscape and if you look closely, you might even find some fossils along the path.
