The former Cistercian convent is an impressive place of rest. Beautiful old buildings in scenic surroundings. The 700 year old linden trees in front of the church were particularly impressive.

Stift Börstel is a former Cistercian monastery, which has been home to an ecumenically congregated chapter for almost 400 years. The Freiweltliche Stift is located in the middle of the forest on the road Berge - Herzlake, on the northern edge of the district of Osnabrück. According to the ancient tradition of the Cistercians, the next village is still a one-hour walk away.
