                      The vineyard was first planted with Müller-Thurgau and Traminer in 1975 by the Niedertrebra LPG.

                      Instead of today's steel posts, railway sleepers were dug in at the time. The grapes were pressed in the Kloster Pforta state winery in Bad Kösen until 1992, after which the wines were matured in the newly founded "Thuringian winery Bad Sulza". From 1999 onwards, new vineyards were developed on the Sonnenberg and in the years that followed the old vineyard was renovated. This also meant that other grape varieties were added. Today, this vineyard is home to the well-known white wine varieties: Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris and also Müller-Thurgau and Traminer; but also the specialties Muscat and Chardonnay.
