In the middle of the beautiful, idyllic Ilm valley, directly on the B 87 Ilmenau - Weimar, lies the small town of Kleinhettstedt, already known throughout Thuringia for its wonderful mustard. It was here that we, Rene Meier and Mathias Rennebeck, came to the decision to set up an ostrich farm in 2011/2012. After visiting many ostrich farms in Germany and successfully completing the specialist seminar on ostrich farming, things really got going in spring 2013...

It is idyllically located in the Ilm Valley in Thuringia, nestled between fields and meadows. The ostriches live in spacious outdoor enclosures with plenty of space to run around and explore. The farm places great value on keeping the animals in a natural and species-appropriate manner.
