From here there is a beautiful view to the left of Stahleck Castle, Bacharach, the islands near Niedertal and to the right of Lorchhausen, Nollig castle ruins, Lorch and the Lorcher Werth.
Fürstenberg Castle was built around 1219 as a hilltop castle by Archbishop Engelbert I. the Electoral Palatinate of Cologne was built. In 1243 the castle went to the Electorate of the Palatinate. The castle is in ruins.

With information board: "This rest area offers a view of the "Fürstenberg" in two ways: of the Fürstenberg castle ruins and of the Fürstenberg vineyards. The castle was first mentioned in 1243 and has remained in ruins since it was last destroyed in 1689 (today privately owned).

In the background, down the Rhine, is the town of Bacharach, which has had town rights since 1356. Accordingly, some of the fortifications and gate towers of the medieval city fortifications can still be seen from afar.
On the opposite side of the Rhine, slightly upstream, you can see Lorchhausen with the neo-Gothic church of St. Bonifatius. Lorchhausen merges seamlessly into the town of Lorch, whose Nollig Castle (tower built around 1100) can best be seen sitting on the bench. So you can enjoy a "three castle view" from here."
