The Saint Bartholomew's Church is a late Gothic building. It was built in brick and Tournai stone. The current state dates from the 15th and 16th centuries, except for the first west bay, the neo-Gothic tower and the north aisle, which were built in 1837. A wooden church tower, mentioned in 1525, was demolished in 1761. The arms of the transept on either side of the building, without a true transept, were built in 1550 on the north side, and in 1638 on the south side. The side aisles and the central nave are covered by a separate gable roof covered with slate. The three-part nave in the form of a hall church was extended by a sacristy in the 19th century.

The building was destroyed in 1566 by the iconoclasm of 1794 by the French insurgents. The interior and exterior were restored between 1972 and 1982.

In the midst of other tombstones and furniture, dating mainly from the mid-19th century, are the 4 tombstones classified by the Royal Decree of March 5, 1975 : a cover plate in Tournai stone belonging to Oste de la Barre and his wife, which surrounds the year 1446 died ; a remnant of the tomb of Corneel de la Barre (died 1489); two sarcophagi, one in tiles in Tournai stone, of Joost and Nikolaas Basta, died in 1633 and 1682 ; the other in black, blue and alabaster stone, belonging to Ferdinand van Liedekerke and his wife, died in 1612. The organ with double keyboard from 1766 was classified by Royal Decree of 17 December 1981.

The treasure includes an embroidered cap (1647) dedicated to Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows and a silver main reliquary from the 15th century depicting the bust of Saint Bartholomew as well as a silver monstrance from 1780, a silver-gilt ciborium (1643 ) from the art medleys of Lille and Tournai.
