The Black Au is crossed by the Sachsenwald in east-west direction, flows through the Aumühler district Friedrichsruh, where it is dammed up to the castle pond, and flows into the Bille here. Immediately opposite the confluence is the production site of the Fürst-Bismarck-Quelle.

The mill pond is very beautiful with different water birds, the path from there into the forest is perfect as a starting point.

From the bridge you have fantastic views over the Mühlenteich and the Schwarze Au. The source of the Schwarze Au is near Schwarzenbek. Here it was dammed to form the Mühlenteich and then flows a little further into the Bille.
Current addendum 19.4.23:
The new bridge was finally completed after a long construction period and is a success. Here's to hoping that it will lead us safely over the Schwarze Au for many years to come.🍀
