The National Museum of Mexican Railways opened its doors to the public on May 5, 1988 at the Ferrocarril Mexicano and Mexicano del Sur train stations in the city of Puebla. It is dedicated to the preservation, research and dissemination of railway history, technology and culture.
Today the museum contains absolutely great and valuable railway treasures. These make it one of the most important of its kind in Mexico and Latin America.
Upon entering the extensive grounds, visitors can admire the beauty and grandeur of the steam, electric, and diesel-electric locomotives. Goods wagons and passenger cars of different types, times and places are also on display, as well as the equipment and tools used in the various areas of railway work. A great experience!
