The India Gate (officially the All India War Memorial) is a single-arched triumphal arch in the Indian capital, New Delhi.

The 42-meter-high arch was designed in 1921 by Edwin Lutyens, modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The monument commemorates the soldiers from British India who died fighting for the British Empire in the First World War. Engraved on it are the names of 90,000 Indian and British soldiers who died in the First World War, as well as the names of 3,000 soldiers who died on the Northwest Frontier and in the 1919 war in Afghanistan. The memorial beneath the India Gate also honors those who died in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
