The Homestead Meadows are named for the several historic homesteads that are all within close proximity to each other in this scenic meadow. All eight homesteads were established by different families between 1889 and 1923. There are informational signs at each of the sites that provide the history of the families. In addition to these fascinating pieces of Colorado history, this hike offers fantastic views of Rocky Mountain National Park, ample wildlife viewing opportunities (look out for moose!), and in the spring the meadow in filled with wildflowers.
