An important and impressive War Memorial to the crew of MV Dumana, a Royal Air Force Seaplane Tender, who died when the ship was torpedoed off the coast of Sassandra at 20h30 the 24th December 1943. So important was this considered that this memorial was erected by the Free French government of Cote d'Ivoire, and inaugurated on the 29th December 1944, when WW2 was still raging in Europe.
