These ruins of an ancient mountain farm above Vetzan in Silandro tell a centuries-old story: first mentioned in 1277, the farm has faced centuries of hardship. Already in 1779 it was registered as poor land, without meadows and water for irrigation. Definitively abandoned in the 1930s, it is today a barren place, marked by time and by nature that is slowly reclaiming it. Although today in ruins, the place continues to be an evocative destination for wayfarers, guardian of memories and a quiet that even fascinated the hermit Karl, known as Zuckpichler, who for years made those walls his summer refuge.
