On the east side of Randerath, a weir was built as part of the city fortifications, which was also used for the mill operation.
The oil mill on the Wurm was first mentioned in 1503.
After 1794 the water mill was sold.
In 1819 a water mill (grinding mill) with two barrels as well as residential buildings, a garden and meadows were secured on the Wurm.

In 1836 she worked as a grain and oil mill.
In 1875 the company switched to steam power, followed by the closure of the oil press.

The Mühlenhof and the mill were destroyed in World War II and never rebuilt.
Only the barn built in the 19th century along the Wurm has survived.
It still marks the former water mill site, which has existed since the 16th century and is of great cultural and historical importance.
