The Sineborn is the largest of three springs that originate in this area in front of the Lichtenhardt. The source area feeds the Unglinghäuser Bach, which flows through the entire town from north to south. Before the stream flows into the Egelsbach after approx. 4.5 km in Eckmannshausen, it takes on several side streams in the Unglinghausen district. The name "Sinterborn" appears in old hall maps. The name of the source has changed over the years and has been adapted again and again. The names "Sennerborn" and "Sinnerborn" are also not unknown. It is also the only source area at this altitude on the Lichtenhardt.
