The building was constructed in the second half of the 17th century and then destroyed during the Northern War. Between 1738 and 1744 the church was rebuilt thanks to the efforts of parish priest Cyprian Lange and consecrated in 1744. At the beginning of the 19th century the church was restored. During the Second World War, the church burned down on July 28, 1944. It was subsequently rebuilt. In 1987, during the tenure of Pastor Jerzy Siary, the church was renovated and restored. During the installation of the heating system, a wall in the crypt of the temple with a semicircular plan was uncovered. In 1992-1993, art historian Wojciech Koziejowski conducted initial research in the church and concluded that the wall uncovered is a remnant of an earlier Romanesque structure - an apse preserved in the form of a crypt ( Translated from Wikipedia).
