The Cruz de Benidorm is one of the most impressive viewpoints on the Costa Blanca. After a steep but easily navigable ascent along paved roads, you are rewarded at the top with a breathtaking panorama. The sparkling Mediterranean Sea stretches out before you, while your gaze sweeps far across the Benidorm coastline and the striking Sierra Gelada mountain range.

Inland, the majestic Puig Campana and the Aitana mountain range rise, their rugged peaks forming a striking contrast to the tranquil expanse of the sea. It's a place that perfectly combines peace, views, and nature – and while the climb requires effort, it's worth every moment.

Since 1962, the Benidorm Cross has been glowering at the city's bathers. Many people come to this peak of the Sierra Helada (or Serra Gelada, in Valencian) to enjoy the best panoramic view of Benidorm and the mountains that surround it. But, except for the inhabitants of the surrounding area, few remember that it was placed to protest the Franco government's authorization to wear bikinis, and other sinful swimsuits, on its beaches.
And, in addition to a viewpoint and a spectacular walk, the Cruz de Benidorm is the gateway to the Sierra Helada/Serra Gelada Natural Park. Other routes also leave from its path, some of which hold rewards such as the romantic Albir lighthouse, solitary in a ravine facing the sea and with breathtaking views.
