"Cathedral on the Main" / St. Paul - Hanau/Großauheim 🚴♂️
The Catholic parish church of St. Paul, also popularly known as the "Cathedral on the Main," is located in Hanau-Großauheim. It is a three-apse basilica with a high (north-)west tower and a massive transept, and dates back to approximately 1905-1907. In the immediate vicinity is a tall column with an iron cross, serving as a war memorial.

St. Paul is the former parish church of the Hanau district of Großauheim in the diocese of Fulda.
The Church of St. Paul was built between 1905 and 1907 by the architect August Greifzu on property directly on the banks of the Main and consecrated on July 1, 1907 by Bishop Joseph Damian Schmitt. The impressive location also gave the church the nickname “Dom am Main”. It replaced the older St. Jakobus church in Großauheim's old town, which was retained as a branch church.
