Santander de Quilichao is a Colombian city with 220,000 inhabitants and is located in the northern sector of the department of Cauca, at a distance of 97 km north of Popayán and 45 km south of Cali.
Geographical limits of the city: to the north with the municipalities of Villa Rica and Jamundí, to the west with the municipality of Buenos Aires, to the east with the municipalities of Caloto and Jambaló and to the south with the municipality of Caldono.
It is a very touristic place, with a great infrastructure and that is in a development of great increase and is the most commercial city in the region and a national and international power in trade and export of coffee.
Santander de Quilichao was declared the first city of birds in all of South America and has tourist places for bird watching.
Santander de Quilichao is also called the land of gold, the city of the samanes and the city of birds.
