Elektrėnai parish was founded only in 1989. Until then, the believers of the city went to the neighboring parishes of Vievi, Kietaviškii, and Semeliskii to pray. 1988 In autumn, about 2 thousand signatures of believers were collected in Elektrėnai for the request to establish a parish and build a church in Elektrėnai. 1989 in the summer, priest Jonas Sabaliauskas was appointed as the first pastor of Elektrėnai. The first mass was offered in the hall of the Elektrėnai canteen, later temporary prayer rooms were set up in the hall on the second floor of the Communal Enterprises Combine.
