From the old oak tree in Kelchterhoef, a 250-year-old chestnut lane leads you through the park. This chestnut lane was the original access road to Kelchterhoef from Houthalen. Floats were often used to impress visitors. In addition, the trees planted along the road shelter people and horses from extreme weather conditions. The oldest part of the chestnut avenue on the old oak tree consists of huge sweet chestnuts that are at least several hundred years old! A beautiful path now runs through the lane, with artificial sofas along the way to dream along the way. Via a tree ladder you can climb into the crown of one of the trees and look for the woodpecker.
