The Orrido di Foresto via ferrata is located within the Orrido di Foresto special nature reserve, established in 1980 with the aim of preserving the prickly juniper and other important botanical species, this route allows you to enter the heart of the splendid excavated gorge from the Rocciamelone stream, climb the limestone ramparts and discover the xeric prairies that characterize the area.
The via ferrata starts from the small town of Foresto and immediately immerses you in spectacular scenery, characterized by high and narrow rock walls. To start the road, we head towards an area called “Lazzaretto“, so called due to the presence of a stone building leaning against the right wall of the ravine which is said to have been an obligatory refuge for those suffering from the plague in the 1600s. The route offers Tibetan bridges and you have to climb along vertical walls next to the waterfalls.
