In 1989, the Wichtel Hausbrauerei (Wichtel Brewery) started in Ditzingen in the premises of a former cinema. In 2002, the Wichtel in Stuttgart-Feuerbach opened. Since 2009, the Wichtel in Böblingen has been located on the former airfield in one of the historic buildings.

Years ago, Wichtel moved from the outskirts of Ditzingen to the town center and now runs a restaurant with a small beer garden in the courtyard.
Wichtel Ditzingen is a great spot for a lunch break on the Glems-Mühlen cycle path, which runs from the source of the Glems River near the Bärenschlösschen (Little Bear Castle) to its confluence with the Enz River. The microbrewery also operates restaurants in Feuerbach and Böblingen. In Bad Cannstatt, there's the Wichtelhütte (Wichtel Hut), which can be booked for groups, and a restaurant at the train station.
