The forest roads in Granite are a hidden gem in the upper Arkansas Valley. These are some of the first trails and roads in the area to thaw out from the winter, and the sections in open meadows offer great views.
A short, steep jaunt up from the river provides views of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness along with Mount Elbert and Mount Massive (two of Colorado's tallest 14ers). You can keep running further up this road to connect to other OHV trails in the area.
