The Holy Trinity Church is one of the numerous architectural monuments of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi. The church was located on the corner of Shevchenko and Gimnaziynaya streets. The first cathedral was built in the city in the 17th century, it was on the same site as the modern church. But the building was made of wood and in the 18th century, after a lightning strike, it burned down in a fire. Money for the construction of a new temple was collected throughout the city. The construction was successful and did not last long, already in 1804 the new Trinity Church was consecrated. The architectural style of the cathedral is Old Russian, it also includes elements of classicism. A bell tower was added to the cathedral 60 years later.
