The via ferrata over the Matterhornstiege is a good connection between the other two via ferratas on the Peilstein. Climbing takes place in front of an impressive rock backdrop. All 3 climbs can be combined and are particularly suitable for via ferrata beginners.

Complete via ferrata equipment is obligatory. The helmet should be worn throughout the climbing area due to the risk of falling rocks. A safety rope is recommended for beginners and children.

Access is possible via the wall footpath or as part of the Peilstein via ferrata. From the Eissteig, it goes via brackets up the so-called Matterhornstieg into a saddle and on to the Uhuwinkel. Depending on the direction taken, the Haserlstiege (via ferrata A) or the Couloir Stiege (via ferrata B/C) can be chosen as the exit to the Peilsteinhütte.
