        The arduous way over the many stairs is worthwhile. I would recommend a visit in the morning or in the evening.
        With the entrance ticket for the city wall you can also visit the fort. Here some scenes were shot for GoT. When we were there, there was a GoT guide.
        This made the rather bald fortress much more interesting.
        On another trip to Dubrovnik, I would probably choose a guide.
        A visit to the fortress is worthwhile in any case; It has a great view of the city and the sea.

                  Lovrijenac or Fort Lovrijenac, sometimes called St. Lawrence Fortress and nicknamed the "Gibraltar of Dubrovnik," is a fortress located outside the western city wall of Dubrovnik, Croatia, near the sea. It guards access to the city by both sea and land. Legend has it that it was built in just three months to outpace the Venetians who wanted to control the city.
