What an impression of colossal grandeur did they not feel in front of this rocky outcrop, which overlooks the Ourthe, and on which were built the Roman and medieval fortifications which gave birth to the city. Everywhere are just rocks! So it is rightly that the place was baptized with the name of La Roche.

The Bronze is formed by half a dozen small streams located northeast of the Barrière de Champlon in the commune of Tenneville. The watercourse does not flow into any inhabited area with the exception of the hamlet of Hamerine near the village of Journal. It then joins the Ourthe at an altitude of 220 m. right in the center of La Roche-en-Ardenne. A few dozen meters before its confluence, the stream flows under the Place du Bronze.

Its course, approximately 12 kilometers long, takes place mainly in a wooded environment. The slopes are very steep. Not far away on the heights we will find the villages of Journal, Mierchamps, Vecmont, Ronchampay, and Beausaint.
