The Abbey of Santa Maria di Vezzolano, located in the hills of Monferrato, is a jewel of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Dating back to the 12th century, it preserves medieval frescoes and a valuable carved pier, and is surrounded by an aura of history and spirituality.

Unfortunately I could not visit it because I was brutally chased away because I had entered with my dog, telling me that it was a consecrated place... I wonder if a poor dog is by chance the work of the devil? However, if you have a dog, leave it outside to be safe.
I make a change to what was said above: having returned in February 2025 with another excursion, I saw at the entrance the sign with a drawing of the dog that said "I can enter". Thank goodness!
