The official opening of the Oberbarmen neighborhood park took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023!

Access to the neighborhood park is possible from Wichlinghauser Strasse, from Max-Planck-Strasse and from the Nordbahntrasse.

Layout:

On the 4,500 square meter demanding site with a variety of open spaces, you can get from Wichlinghauser Straße to the lower part of the neighborhood park, from where the BOB terraces extend up to the entrance to the neighborhood floor of the BOB CAMPUS and the Max Planck -Street extend. A small forecourt invites you to linger with a wall and the first plants. After that, a 100-meter-long main path runs through the entire site, overcoming a height difference of 13 meters. To the left and right of the path, the BOB terraces invite you to garden, discover and pick.

On the BOB terraces there is space for the garden ideas of the neighborhood groups, including herb and vegetable beds, insect and dye gardens, and a community garden house has already found its place. A large terrace just off the neighborhood floor offers space to rest, admire the view, and celebrate. A meadow orchard with fruit trees and nut bushes will be created between the terrace and Max-Planck-Straße.
