Ratzenried has a special attraction to offer. The village, which has already won several awards in the "beauty contest", can offer not only beauty but also interesting historical views. It is thanks to the Ratzenried local history association that the historic houses in the village and in several of its hamlets have received signs that record the village life and goings-on of yesteryear. A documentation that is of the utmost importance given the rapid changes of the last few decades, because even for the current generation of children, the variety of areas of life and professions in the old village has already been more or less forgotten.

Berthold Büchele's many years of research, which was dedicated to house history research, among other things, and of course the interest and support of the respective house owners, made this sign campaign possible, an action that is unparalleled in a village.
