    Today the monastery, the former house monastery of the bailiffs, is the residence of an artist. The area is therefore only open for events. The building was based on the Naumburg Cathedral. However, only remnants of the original building remain

        The walls of this venerable monastery have many stories to tell the hiker. Just put your ear close enough to the stones warmed by the sun and you'll be surprised. Even if this building is apparently never completely restored, it convinces with its patina. The monastery garden is covered with a multitude of plants and is decorated with extraordinary sculptures. Even some animals such as horses, sheep and chickens enrich the flora and fauna.

            In 1193 the Mildenfurth monastery was founded as the house monastery of the Weida bailiffs. Disbanded by the Reformation in 1544. Viewing possible by appointment.
