The closest distillery to Port Askaig, Coal Ila is in a stunning location, overlooking the Paps of Jura. Pronounced 'Cull-Eela', the distillery is owned by Diageo and the whisky produced here goes into Jonnie Walker, hence being the biggest producer on Islay. The new visitor center is accessible a foot from the parking above the distillery via a wooden bridge. Try one of the distillery exclusive drams while you're there!
