The bridge is one of 5 over which you can reach the harbor island. It was built in 1930 and put into operation in 1932. 1993-1994 it would be renovated. It can be used by cars, trucks, pedestrians and cyclists. Definitely worth seeing.

The bridge can be used by railway vehicles, cars, pedestrians and cyclists. It is covered on the land side by mechanical barrier booms and bridge cover signals, the follow-up dependency with back lock is established by manual locks. There are four fixed opening times per working day, and two more times on Sundays and public holidays. On special occasions, an extra opening can be registered with the building authority.
