Bildbeschreibung: According to legend, Heinrich was just at this place and devoted himself to the bird trap when a horde of horses arrived to offer him the royal crown. In fact, Duke Henry 919 was elected king in his estate at the suggestion of the Duke of Franken, Eberhard. The monument makes a balancing act between these two stories. So it seems that at the moment of his coronation Duke Henry thinks of the bird catching and thereby distracts himself. The bishop draws a skeptical face. This is on the one hand the displeasure of the coronation on the church side, but also the outrage that the future king is distracted from the bird trap. Another figure is the chronicler. It seems as if he happens to be in the square when the cavalcade appears to crown Henry. He also gives little attention to the events in his back. It looks as if he is thinking about what he could write in the history book. This is to point to the dispute that has existed for generations between historians who discuss whether the coronation began German history or continued Frankish history.
