The Church of Our Lady in Nyborg on Funen, on the west coast of the Great Belt, is a Gothic brick pseudo-basilica. It is the most important church building in the city and is used by the Danish National Church.
The "Church of Our Lady" was built between 1388 and 1428 and consecrated on Pentecost 1428 by Bishop Navne Jensen Krigebusk. Its patron saint is Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The oldest parts are the four western parts of the church, which were enclosed on the east side by a north-south wall in the early 14th century.

There is archaeological evidence of a small Romanesque previous building with brick masonry, but without its shape.
This was replaced from the west from 1375 by today's church building. According to tradition, however, Queen Margarethe I is said to have laid the foundation stone in 1388. After the completion of the small eastern bell tower on the choir gable, the church was consecrated in 1428 (Wikipedia).
