Fischbach Castle, built in the 15th century by the Lords of Waldenfels, has an eventful history. The core of the building dates back to 1452. It was burned down in 1525 during the Peasants' War and then rebuilt. In 1582, Georg Christoph von Waldenfels sold the castle to Achaz von Guttenberg and built himself a more modest residence in Höfles (today Höfles No. 36). Unfortunately, Fischbach Castle has been in a deep sleep for several years. The castle church next door was built in its current form in 1589, also by Georg Christoph von Waldenfels. Above the side portal of the church is the stonemason's mark of the Brandenburg-Kulmbach master builder Hans Werner with the year 1589. The same initials and the same mark are on the house at Höfles No. 36 with the year 1613.
