"... The Dellwiger Bach nature reserve is located in the Lütgendortmund district of Dortmund. It covers 112.1 hectares.

The heart of the nature reserve is the renatured Dellwiger Bach with its large surrounding deciduous forests, fallow areas, marshes and small trees. The old-growth beech-oak mixed forests are important for the nature reserve. In these there are Siepen with spring zones and near-natural streams with ponds, overgrown with reeds and reeds. After the Dellwiger Bach and the Katzbach were renatured between 1982 and 1986, the Dellwiger Bachtal is now an important breeding and habitat for birds such as buzzards, tawny owls, water rails, whitethroats, lesser woodpeckers and stock doves, as well as amphibians such as fire salamanders, smooth newts, common frogs and natterjack toads. The rare forest lizard also lives here.

Since the nature reserve is a popular recreation area, the wild animals living here are adversely affected by walkers and especially dog owners who let their animals run free. ..."
