Adolf Munkel was the section chairman and founder of the Dresden Alpine Club for 30 years. Among other things, the work of the Dresden Alpine Club created the popular hiking trail at the foot of the Geislerspitzen. The path was named after the meritorious founder Adolf Munkel.
