Syrgenstein Castle is well worth a visit.👍🏻 Unfortunately, it can only be viewed from the outside, as it's privately owned. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So the castle is great, but be careful not to miss the small yellow sign on the automatic entrance gate (mostly open). The tour takes you part of the private property and into the castle courtyard. As soon as you set foot over the property line, a small, fat-cheeked Rumpelstiltskin with a yellow sweater appears in the castle window and shouts the worst insults. As if it had been waiting for it. It clatters with its feet on the wooden floor as it passes through the courtyard. Noblesse? More of a nouveau riche proletariat. A small improvement would probably be to shoot with a hunting rifle at the poor cyclist who missed the little yellow sign. Disgusting!

Not only an impressive structure from the valley, but also from the top of the castle, its true size is evident. It's not actually that small. Unfortunately, the damp is clearly visible through the walls. The road up (very high) is also not to be underestimated.
