The Funtana springs are located in a romantic village on the Istrian Adriatic coast. The freshwater springs are a destination for vacationers.
The former fishing village of Funtana is now one of the most popular holiday resorts in Istria. Funtana nestles romantically in a bay in the west of the Istrian peninsula and its special charm appeals to both locals and tourists from all over the world. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the village with its lush vegetation resembles a green oasis right on the Mediterranean coast. The hospitality of the inhabitants enchants many a vacationer. After all, not only crystal clear water, a fantastic panorama and the springs of Funtana, but also good restaurants and cafés in the small fishing village are waiting for you...

The springs are located directly by the sea. They are at sea level but provide clean drinking water. The inhabitants of Funtana drew their water from these springs as early as the second century. They are also the namesake of the fishing town, whose name is derived from the Latin word for well. In the past, the freshwater springs were not only used to supply the residents of Funtana, but the pier was also used for thermal baths, and docking ships replenished their water supply.
