A few steps from the Grotta di San Michele there is also the structure (unfortunately still under restoration) called the Pope's Garden which saw Pope Gregory VII as a guest during his exile. Above the structure there is a votive cross. Following a small path you arrive at a small clearing on which there is a small altar facing the cave.
